“Giving Back” is a terrible title for this page. It implies that we took something from Uganda, and now we’re feeling bad so we’re “giving” some of it “back.” This just isn’t the case.
The Source Cafe and Resource Centre is at its core a place that gives. It gives weary travelers a place to check email and drink great coffee. It gives locals a quiet morning place to read a novel or have a quick meeting. The Source provides resources that just aren’t available anywhere else. We do this while paying all our bills and taxes, and somehow at the end of the day we have some resources left over. We’ve decided to put those resources into the very economy in which we find ourselves, building infrastructure for the long term.
